Faux leather skirt

I just completed sewing V8750, my third version of this skirt.  I used a faux leather purchased 11 months ago from Sawyer Brooks.  I purchased it with the intent of making a peplum top.  Obviously becoming a skirt was more of its destiny.

This was a great faux leather fabric to sew; sewing this type fabric requires patience and being sure of each sewing step you will take.  If you have to remove stitches you will have holes left and some pressing with steam and press cloth will help but those needle holes do not totally disappear.

I ran into some mishaps with installing the zipper and fortunately I had enough fabric to cut all three back pattern pieces again.  This skirt is also my November Garment of the Month.

I took photos of the skirt on the hanger and not on me as I was not "made up" for photography.  I will post photos of me wearing at another time on my blog. The first photo is the front of the skirt; the second is the back and the third is a close up of the topstitching.

You can go here to read more postings about the skirt progression if you like.  I used 1 1/2 yards of fabric.
